John Gilbreth - Candidate for Sheridan School Board
Q:
What will be your top priority as a school board member in the upcoming term? A:The
most important issue is to me is to improve our children’s overall learning experience within this district. We do this
by getting the community, the parents, the teachers and staff, involved in understanding our public education system for the
sake our children, who, as you know, are our future leaders. We do this by making a positive difference within the School
Board. We get our community and parents involved to help our teachers and staff to work as a team to build a great school
system and infrastructure for our children by improving their learning experiences. Q: Why should the people
of East End vote for you?
A: BECAUSE I CARE. I was born and raised
in the East End community. I want to make all issues a priority, to help come up with bold new ideas and bring about a fresh,
new energy to our district. I have been a part of its ups and downs most all my life. I want to bring about growth, development,
positive, long lasting change to our educational values for the sake of our kids. I believe, as a board member, one has to
become fully engaged within the community, doing what is best for our students, the families of our community, our teachers,
to include all school staff. I want to bridge the existing gap by keeping the community, teachers and parents alike, involved
and informed, because I have been on both sides and have experienced the disconnect. What the community
should know is this is personal to me. My daughter is a student at SES. My nephew is a student at EE Intermediate. And, I
believe, if elected, being a part of the “team” we can work together to build a bold, new school system/board,
to bring about positive, long-term change by tackling the issues at hand, together as a community!
